Dixie Kitchen & Bait Shop Hyde Park is our original location.  Well known as the place to be for Cajun, Creole and Southern Cuisine on the South Side of Chicago, Dixie Kitchen Hyde Park has been full of satisfied customers since 1994.  Carryout also remains a popular option for our local regulars, as we serve almost as much Gumbo and Catfish To-Go as we do for Dine-In!  Our Hyde Park location being selected as one of the top ten new restaurants in Chicago in 1995 by Chicago Magazine was a great honor that inspired the continued growth and success of our Southern restaurant theme and the opening of Dixie Kitchens in Lansing, IL and Evanston, IL.

Dixie Kitchen and Bait Shop in Hyde Park is located at 5225 S. Harper in the Harper Court complex, directly across from our Caribbean themed Calypso Cafe.  Harper Court is located at Harper and 53rd in Hyde Park next to the University of Chicago.  From the North, South or West, exit onto Lakeshore drive and take the 53rd Street Exit.  Head two blocks West on 53rd and take a right on Harper Avenue, there is a public parking lot on the east side of the restaurant.  If you haven’t been here yet, come see what you’ve been missing!
